Australia Zoo Trip

30/10/2017
Students at Australia Zoo

During our camp week we went to Australia Zoo. The Preps to year 3 went up from the school in the morning and the Years 4-6 with the Kentville students on camp, met up at Australia Zoo at 10:00.

We were split into groups and went exploring around the zoo. There were all the usual animals and some really strange ones. One of our favourites was the meerkats because they were funny as they stood up and looked around. The younger pupils liked the big African animals.
At midday, we went to the arena and watched the crocodile show and all the amazing birds flying around. There were some big colourful birds and they flew across the stage from one side to another so we could see them. The crocodile did not do what the handlers wanted him to do and it was funny.
We had lunch. The campers had a packed lunch from the camp and the little kids had lunches made by Mr Williams (our cleaner), Mrs Schoenauer (a wonderful Teacher Aide) and Jenny (our lovely coach from the Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) team). Their lunches were better than ours.
After lunch, we went exploring again and at 3:00 the Preps and Year 1s went home. The Years 2 and 3 went on the bus back to camp with us. We had a great day.
