Lockrose State School is situated in the Lockyer Valley between Toowoomba and Brisbane. There are currently fifty students enrolled in a co-educational, multi-age setting. The school population is derived from the Brightview, Regency Downs and Lockrose Districts. The school was established in 1905.
Traditionally the area was a rural setting, however in the last few years the nature of the school has changed to be more of a rural-residential area. The delivery of services which in the past have been limited has improved with the development of a supermarket and medical complexes.
We are a small three teacher school with approximately fifty students. We cater for boys and girls in Prep to year Six, teaching the full eight key learning areas as mandated by Education Queensland.
The school had its centenary in 2005. The school, for its size, is spacious with all classrooms air-conditioned and attractive.
